Infringement Update – The trail takes a new turn

Now we’re getting somewhere. 

In my posting of 16th December relating to our hunt to stop copyright infringer abccopyright.com (a copyright registration company – and yes, you read that right), we learnt their website was hosted not by Bluehost – as abccopyright’s website (deliberately?) erroneously states, but another provider; Domainsite.com.  Fine, I thought.  They’ll pull the plug on the villains, right? 

Wrong. 

Today I received an email reply from a representative of DomainSite.com, in response to the DMCA notice I sent informing them of abccopyright’s infringement.  Scott, their representative, pointed out DomainSite weren’t the domain holder, web host provider, or designated agent after all.  (Okay, so much for that trail of internet breadcrumbs.)  Fortunately, he did point us in another direction.  (Aha!) 

It appears the web host provider for abccopyright is Global Net Access, LLC.  So it’s to the Abuse Department of these people we should direct our correspondence about abccopyright.  Consider a DMCA notice email sent. 

Now what I found really heartening about Scott’s response was not just his helpful re-direction for us on our hunt, but the tone of his response.  It was encouraging, sympathetic.  Now that’s what I call consideration and customer service.  Nice one Scott and DomainSite. 

Bluehost… take note. 

I’ll let know what the outcome is.
