GemProtect™ is a combined registration and file back-up subscription service offered by duly noted®. Renewable yearly, GemProtect™ offers you:
 A set number of free copyright registrations per year.
10 years registration of your work at duly noted®.
An emailed certificate of registration with a unique security ID number.
A duplicate of your registered file automatically created for retrieval by you anytime as part of the back-up service. This means you don’t also have to back-up a document you’ve already registered.
In the event of a copyright dispute, duly noted® will, on request, provide a read-only soft-copy of the original uploaded file along with the relevant registration data for you to use as evidence in any litigation proceedings. And all at a special, GemProtect™ reduced rate!
A set storage capacity for you to back-up important files, accessible 24-7.
Access to your own personal Member Page, in which you can:
• Track registered files and download their duplicate copies.
• Back-up, retrieve or delete previously uploaded files, and check how much storage capacity is left.
• Get access to certificates of your previously registered documents to print copies.
The option to upgrade to the next GemProtect™ membership level – and at a cheaper, pro-rata rate!
Unused free registrations at the end of the year? No problem! These are added to your tally when you renew your subscription.
The option to register one or more works at a discount once you’ve exhausted your free allocation. And multiple registrations that match the next Gemstone level upgrade price grant you the option to automatically upgrade. That’s extra back-up storage space and more free registrations!
The option to renew document registration(s) after ten years are up – and at a discount.

And because we recognise our clients have differing registration and storage needs, we offer three different Gemstone subscription levels:
Important Information About The GemProtect™ Back-Up Service
• Automatic upgrades: You will be offered the option to automatically upgrade to the next Gemstone level only when a) you are making multiple registrations at one time, and b) if the value of the multiple registrations matches the upgrade price of the next Gemstone level.
• Storage capacity and dupes of registered files: So as not to eat into your valuable storage space allocation, duly noted® ensures the space taken up by a backed-up copy of a registered work is separate from and in addition to your storage space allocation. For example, you have a storage allocation of 25MB and register a file that is 333KB in size, which has a back-up automatically generated. That 333KB copy won’t be deducted from your 25MB allocation, leaving you more space to back-up what’s important for you.
• Back-ups of registered files: Only the automatically generated back-up duplicate of a registered file can be accessed for retrieval and opened by our clients. The original of the registered uploaded file will remain inaccessible to clients so as to make registration effective.
• Non-renewal of subscription: If a subscribing client chooses not to renew their subscription, the backed-up files will be automatically deleted, but the registered files remain on the duly noted®™ system for the remainder of their registration period, and the client would only have access to a non-membership page.

Find yourself with more work you wish to register and back up than you previously realised? No problem!
You can upgrade your membership to the next Gemstone level anytime during the term of your subscription. Just pay the pro-rata difference between your current subscription and whichever level above you need, and you’re set. All you have to do is click on the upgrade icon, and follow the instructions. It’s that simple!*
